Will cell phone numbers become the primary line for house holds?

With the downfall of the economy may of our cell phone number experts are speculating this is possible. Since the economy has fallen many house holds have elected to decrease reoccurring expenses. Most families today have a home phone (landline) and a cell phone number for each to the family members. Rather then dropping the cell phone numbers, the decision has been to drop the landline. Why? Most families making this decision depend on cell phone numbers as the backbone of there communication and networking. Many people loosing their jobs say that most friends and colleges know there cell phone number and not their landline. I would also say this is true in my situation. My cell phone numbers would be used as a primary medium for locating a new job is I were to get laid off.

The number of cell phone numbers issued in the nation is still increase, even through this terrible economy. Since text messaging has been increasing popularity, much of the increase of cell phone numbers issued has been related to that. Our cell phone number experts say that if it wasn’t for the text messaging spike we would be seeing a decrease in cell phone numbers being issued, because most families would go down to one cell phone number.

As cell phones become more and more reliable the more weight society will be putting on the cell phone numbers.
