Arizona
The State of Arizona is a state positioned within the southwestern part of the United States. The largest and capital city is Phoenix. Tucson is the second largest city, succeeded by the four Phoenix-area cities of Scottsdale, Glendale, Chandler, and Mesa.
Arizona was the 48th and final of the adjacent states accepted to the Union on 14th February, 1912. Arizona is renowned for its desert type of weather, extremely hot summers, and gentle winters, but the elevated country in the north attributes mountain ranges and pine forests with cooler conditions than the lower deserts. Arizona fits in firmly in the Range and Basin state of North America. The area was shaped by means of prehistoric volcanism, chased by a cooling-off and related subsidence. The whole area is gradually sinking.
The Grand Canyon is a steep-sided gorge, colorful, carved by the Colorado River, inside northern Arizona. The canyon is among the seven natural wonders of the world and is mostly contained in the Grand Canyon National Park, one of the original national parks within the United States. President Theodore Roosevelt was a chief advocate of designating the Grand Canyon area, visiting on many occasions to track mountain lion and benefit from the scenery. The Canyon was shaped by the Colorado River cutting a channel for over millions of years, and is about 277 miles long, ranges in width from 18 to 4 miles or 29 to 6 kilometers and reaches a depth of further than 1 mile or 1.6 km. almost 2 billion years of the Earth's past have been uncovered as the Colorado River.
